Volquartsen Scorpion
Looking for thoughts on the Volquartsen Scorpion. I shot one last night in practice, and I liked it. The trigger was surprisingly good with a nice roll to it. It was the 1911 style with 4.5" barrel and compensator. A friend of mine who is a Master has the 6" model with MKIII frame, and loves his. Anyone else have experience with it?

Re: Volquartsen Scorpion
For three years now, I have used the 4.5" full-build Scorpion hand built by Scott Volquartsen (took extra time) - also in the 1911 (22/45) Mk3 style (replaceable grips) with the VQ compensator, and target iron sights.
I fully love this pistol and tongue-in-cheek, it shoots laser beams to 50+ yards. I have several grip types and my favorites are the TandemKross bee-hive grips. My wife is looking for something in the $1500-$1800 range and we are leaning towards the Mk4 version with the non-1911 frame.
Bottom line: the Scorpion is a very underrated (or unknown) sleeper - it's extremely capable.

Re: Volquartsen Scorpion
I started off with a Scorpion. It was the longer barrel. I liked the balance of the longer barrel with the compensator. I loved it. It is every bit as accurate as my Pardini. It has a fantastic trigger too. Breakdown was a nightmare, but that wasn't a big concern. The only reason I switched to the Pardini was because I wanted to shoot 32 for cf. I agree with Steady, the Scorpion is a very underrated gun!

Thanks for the input. I agree it was a surprise. I fired around 50 rounds (50 ft indoor) slow, timed, rapid, and my groups were every bit as good as with my Pardini. Think it would make a fine second .22.

Make sure you put two paper bags over it when in public however....it's uglier than sin to look at!

I have a Scorpion LLV-6 upper on my Ruger MKII lower. It is fantastic and makes an average shooter a good shooter and a good shooter even better. I like it so much I have two. See pics.

Re: Volquartsen Scorpion
Thanks, If my Scorpion isn't sold I will try one. That's my only gripe. Muzzle too lite.
