Travel setup
In the general discussion, I posted a video of one persons travel set up. Here is mine. The case is a Pelican 1450 with a double layer custom foam inserts. The vendor is Gunfoam.com.

They worked with me every step of the way and I couldn’t be more pleased. The guns fit just like the foam inserts were made for them. (Wait! They were made for them!). I’ve attached some pics. If you change guns, they will make new foam. They can make you foam if you have an existing case. This company isn’t necessarily the lowest price for this service, but you get the ultimate product in this category, IMO. The case pictured was just over $220.00 with the inserts. You get your choice of color for the background foam.

Re: Travel setup
Did they engrave the foam too? That's pretty cool!

Yes, they have logos you can choose from or you can customize your engraving. No matter how much engraving, it’s one charge!

Re: Travel setup
Did they supply the cutout shapes or did you supply a DXF or something to specify the cutout?

Re: Travel setup
You take a picture from about waist height. Then you measure the thickness of the pistol and take a length. Their software then takes the picture and creates a cut out profile. There are full instructions on their website. Relatively simple and painless. They adjust the profile some in the processing to eliminate pinches and add finger “ports” for pullout. Then it’s off to the CNC.zanemoseley wrote:Did they supply the cutout shapes or did you supply a DXF or something to specify the cutout?
