CCI Standard Velocity Ammo
Has anyone notice a difference in reliability between CCI standard velocity in the 100 pack plastic box and the 50 pack paper box.

Re: CCI Standard Velocity Ammo
There were some talks about "bad" lots of SV, and old threads about the difference between the packaging, but I think the consensus is the differences are not intentional and have more to do with variables in lot numbers.
The people who had the "bad" lots of SV were supposed to post those lot numbers, but I never saw those posts.

Re: CCI Standard Velocity Ammo
I've put quite a few cases of CCI sv (both paper box and plastic box) down a variety of 22's. It is far and away my go to ammo for sustained fire. I just don't have issues with dud's. If memory serves me correctly, I had one (1) in over 20,000 rds.
For Regional and Camp Perry I'll use Tenx or Lapua, but only because it gives me about 1/2" better group. No better reliability.
I remember seeing the posts on poor lots, but have been lucky and bypassed those. Not everyone has had the same luck.

I shoot a model 41, I have not seen any difference between the two.

Re: CCI Standard Velocity Ammo
The main problem with CCI standard velocity ammo is availability. I don't know any place that is selling it right about now.

Nanchez currently had green tag and SV available with a limit of five per flavor per day.

It didn't take them anytime at all to sell out.Joe Fobes wrote:Nanchez currently had green tag and SV available with a limit of five per flavor per day.

Seems like as soon as word gets out on any kind of availability, it vaporizes. At least it's starting to pop up here and there. It was getting old seeing out of stock on virtually every type of pistol ammo.

I don't remember any differences in the packaging. CCI SV is what I use in my Mark 111 when firing a match. But it is pretty scarce around here. As long as I keep my pistol clean there are few problems. Yiogo
