Armscor .22lr Standard Velocity from CMP
The CMP is selling the Armscor .22lr Standard Velocity for $405 for a case. I've never shot it and despite the ammo shortage, I don't want to buy a case if it is bad. I've heard the cases don't fit all chambers. Anyone have any experience with this ammo. Thanks.

Re: Armscor .22lr Standard Velocity from CMP
I ordered a case, but given CMPs over 2 month backlog for filling orders, I probably won't have a chance to try out the Armscor until mid to late June.
Take a look at this thread that started about bulk Eley: https://www.bullseyeforum.net/t16598p25-cmp-eley-bulk. The Armscor showed up on page 2 of the discussion. On March 30, Seightring reported, "I have used Armscor 22 in the past. It worked well in my Kart conversion. Your mileage may vary in your 22."

I bought a brick of Armscor .22lr SV about two years ago. It was junk. I even had problems with it with my S&W revolver. Lots of FTFs and the need to rotate and re-fire to get a round to function. Maybe it's improved, but I'd be skeptical. In other calibers, Armscor USA was significantly better quality than Armscor Precision (made in the PI).

Thank you for pointing out the other thread. I missed it.
The ammo auction is very interesting. CCI Green Tag and CCI Pistol Match, I haven't seen those in years. I've never bought from an ammo Auction. I may give it a try.
I decided to take the risk and buy 1 case of ammo. I ordered a case of the Eley CMP last year and I need another. Hopefully it will cycle my target pistols.

I placed an order on April 1, over 3 months ago. My account still shows as "Processing." I guessing between the end of July and middle of August, but what do I know? I've gotten shipping estimates from CMP in the past and they have consistently under estimated when the product ships.

Thanks!
I ordered some time in March, got an order confirmation, and nearly forgot about it. Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss something.

They have always come through with my orders, but the lag time between order and shipment just keeps getting longer and longer.

Re: Armscor .22lr Standard Velocity from CMP
I do not know if this real or imagined. But when I have ordered on my own , I have been backlogged. However, now that I am my club's CMP rep. every time I order , when they have the product in stock I have received it in about a week or two. Maybe it is just dumb luck or maybe they give preference to club orders?
One tangible benefit of club orders is the case limits are much higher. The next time I order 22lr, I am going to order at least 5 cases of the cheap stuff. So it pays to ask around and group the order.

Ran three boxes through my Nelson 22 and S &W M&P rifle. No failures, accuracy on par with Aguila SV. Plenty good for plinking ammo, save the good stuff for important shooting. No chrono available, but recoil impulse a little sharper than CCI SV, more similar to the 1090 FPS Eley.

Re: Armscor .22lr Standard Velocity from CMP
A couple yrs ago or so I bought a brick of Armscor...worse stuff I've ever shot! But then I had good luck w/ Aguila.
Better than not shooting as someone said above.

I live about 20 miles from the US importer. In the past, a good lot would make marginal plinking ammo.

A little dirty but works ok in my guns accuracy decent enough for practice and plinking.

Interesting sub note, the case I received was dated 2017, same as all the Eley I received from CMP.

Re: Armscor .22lr Standard Velocity from CMP
Had the chrono out for something else this evening, so...
Amscor 1045-1050
CCI SV 980
The sun got to low before I got to the CMP Eley.
10-15 feet from the chrono.
5" Marvel .22.
