Need a new range box
I just mounted a aimpoint red dot on my 22 and now it will not fit in my box. I’m also planning on getting a 45 wad gun that a dot will go on as well at some point in the future. I learned yesterday that my gun will not fit in my 1960/70’s era pachmeyer box. I have been looking on line and cant find anything. I see that a gentleman named Saunders is possibly still making boxes and a I have emailed with a man named Dale Horner about getting one that he makes. Is anyone familiar with either of these boxes and recommended one? Also, if someone has contact information for Saunders that would be great. Also, looking for a 4 gun box.

one for sale in the classifieds. pretty sure this is actually a 4 gun box but trust me you would not want to carry 4 guns in it. too heavy. 3 in the box and one in a separate bag with all the ammo works well. saunders' boxes are highly regarded.

Please post a picture of the inside of your box. There is a chance you have one of the easy fix boxes.

Is Greg Walloch still making boxes? (Precision Pistol Box)
I see where his website domain expired.
I bought one of his "kit" boxes a few years ago and love it.

I contacted Greg Walloch and he said he is not making boxes anymore. So, that option is out too.

Re: Need a new range box
Here is a picture of my present box. Looks like modifying it is major surgery as the outside is covered in some kind of material. It’s a nice box and I dont want to ruin it by trying to take it apart. Plus, it belonged to by buddy’s father and it will go back to him when I get a new one. Is the only way to buy a Saunders box from the “Larry’s Guns Website”?

I have the same box, same problem! if you look at some old brian zins pictures you'll see what he did. remove pistol holder from upper tray, carry all your gear and scope in box and put pistols in separate box. Walla!

I have the same box.
The plywood runners are just stapled in.
I pulled them loose and lowered them to where my pistol fits with dot.

Re: Need a new range box
That box could be made to work great with a couple minutes of work. No nails, screws, glue or touching the outside of the box. Turn the box over. Set tray in box also upside down but on top of what used to be lower rail. Measure the gap between tray bottom and box bottom. Cut two pieces of wood about 1/8" shorter and the same length as existing rails. Velcro into bottom corners It's true that this could have all been done using a tape measure. But this way you can see what it will look like

Re: Need a new range box
I just shipped a couple this week, shipping is expensive. Also the cost of quality plywood has tripled in last year. I have sizes listed on my website but interior dimensions I can alter at no additional cost.
