Roll trigger maintenance question
Does anybody use moly on their roll trigger? Or recommend against it?
from what I can see on the parts I have there is a high polish like a ruby stone was used. Would moly help or hurt longevity?
Thanks

Re: Roll trigger maintenance question
I use the stuff that KC sells (TW25 I think) but you have to be careful not to use too much as it seems to change the feel of the trigger..... could be my imagination also.....

Re: Roll trigger maintenance question
I think the use of lube ( moly without graphite, TW25, or Superlube synthetic ) is good, but, it attracts grit so you need to clean the hooks and sears often and re-lube. Brian had a gunsmith whom I had talked with at Perry. He serviced those guns daily. The alternative is to stay clean and dry.

That question can not be answered. Powder, barrel, crimp, number of rounds. All of those play into frequency. If the trigger starts to feel gritty, crunchy or whatever word you want to plug in. It's probably time to pull the bottom end apart, clean and relube.

I use a moly thread lubricant on the hammer hooks, sear nose, disconnector/trigger contact, and sear spring to disconnector (doesn't take much in any of those areas). My lower is usually broken down and cleaned every 1k rounds or so. I've used TW25B but don't think it works as well, or lasts as long, as the Loctite moly thread lube.

TW25B. Just like KC said, as soon as it feels different, clean and lube.
