Springfield 1911 A1 9mm loaded
I have a Springfield 1911 A1 9mm target loaded SS, would this pistol be any good for center fire stage of a bullseye match?

And if it's not accurate at 50 yards right now, there are many pistol smiths here that can fix that for you.

Not too likely as it sits now ... the 16 twist SA barrel is not noted for its accuracy. I've used one for run'n'gun type events but it wasn't BE accurate. A KKM 32 twist barrel is not that expensive but should be fitted to the gun.

Thank you for your input.
I have just now getting back into bullseye shooting. I have a high standard for rim fire, and a colt national match for the hard ball stage. I was just wondering if that Springfield would do.
Thanks Again

I love the 9mm. I shoot Berettas and Glocks. Soon, I will have a Springfield 1911 in 9mm with a KKM. Without the KKM, my gun was not a capable Bullseye gun.
For a wadgun, a .45 can be used for 2/3 of the match. With a Marvel or similar upper, it can be used for the entire match.
Good luck in your pursuit.

The 16 twist will shoot very well. The 32 twist is for 115/125 FMJ. Look into 147 HP. Load around 900fps. Have two both shoot 2-3 inch groups @50yards. You just have to work up a load.
