X-Treme Bullets question
I have been shooting Zero 185 LSWC over 4.1 BE for years. OUr club did a bulk order back in Sept, and they are maybe just starting on the .45 ACP bullets. I'm out. I ordered 2000 X-Treme Copper coated 200 gr SWCs.
Question is, do you think the same 4.1 BE would work for these? I've read for jacketed bullets you need to load a little hotter so they obturate properly. Thoughts?
Thanks,Kurt

Extreme's copper coated bullets can be loaded the same as lead bullets unless you order the "heavy plated" versions. Those start with "HP" in their designator. Ex: HPRN.

I’ve shot 200 Plated SWC with 4.2 BE and they cycled fine….accuracy, however, wasn’t near as good. So fine for practice and training, less so for matches.

Wobbley, how so? What did you notice? And was this off a rest or in your shooting?

From my shooting. Uncalled 8s when firing slowfire on the 25 yard target. Not many, maybe two out of 20, but they were there. Other than that they’re fine for training.

As can be seen, for the same charge of Bullseye, the plated bullet is much slower. Now, this lot of Bullseye is slower than my previous keg, a 200 LSWC with 4.0 grs Bullseye went 740 fps. While I did go to matches with a 4.0 grs BE with the 200 gr Xtreme plated, it was not long before I had stove pipes, etc. So I bumped it up to 4.1 grains, and finally 4.2 grs Bullseye. I have not chronographed these loads. And, I bumped up the 200 LSWC to 4.1 grs of Bullseye as I was having issues with this slower lot of Bullseye.
