Not me, not consistently.
FWIW, it's the button nose 185 gr cast lead version of the Win/Rem/Federal jacketed bullet.
They're seated deeper and have a longer bearing surface.
They tend to smoke because of that. Adding a tumble lube seems to help reduce that
The ones that did shoot well were fast, 4.2 BE fast.
S242, Brazos 160, #68, Star/Zero hp are all good.
The round nose version of this 185 is unusually good fr some reason.
What's your experience? Thanks

I have three 130 molds, one of which is bevel base. All cast well, and shot well, but not as well as a 68, and definitely more recoil. The 68 always did better out of Ransom than the 130 in all my guns.

Shoot what groups and embrace the suck of the recoil.

I’ve seen many 45’s not group with those 185’s. 200’s always work!

I have several 45s that shoot very well with #130. Took quite a bit of time to get loads right. Interestingly enough using N310 as a base powder, it takes lesser charge with 185gr #130 then 185gr #68 style bullet. It appears that 3.3 - 3.5gr of N310 is a sweet spot for this bullet.
But I agree with JE, - it is not easy bullet to work with.

Hi Bruce,
Shot those almost exclusively for 30 years using 452AA, TiteGroup, BE, WST, and 700x.
My highest score was with the Magnus 801's.

More recoil because they're seated deeper ( smaller case volume) and have more resistance in the barrel (bearing length)
Wes, what charges did you like? I'm thinking slower powders would be better for this so it doesn't start off so sharply.

When ever TiteGroup became available I found 4.2grs to work the best for me.

3.6 of Clays or BE Crimped to .465 has always shot well @ 50 ft & 25 yds. 68's & 460's shot much.much better @ 50 yds.
