FAS model 603 S&W L feeding issue
I’m hoping there’s someone out there that can help me with this.
I recently acquired a FAS model 603 32 S&W L
I like the gun however my issue is the feeding of the 3-4th round
Most times it’s the 4th round that doesn’t feed correctly.
I’ve tried tweaking the mag lips ( not sure what those Dimensions should be so it’s trial & error).
Also,
1) any suggestions on who to contact to get parts, like extra mags, buffers, springs, etc.
2) Has anyone tried to create the 1911 style grips for this gun? I’m thinking of making my own to mimic the 1911 slab side feel.
Thanks in advance for any advice on this gun.

Paul ?
My guess id magazine spring strength...as it empties, there's less upward force

We have a 603 and a 602. The last parts I got were from Australia (Potter?). I did contact FAS in Italy. They stated they have parts and seemed very helpful. I could not find a US source for anything. Great guns but tough to maintain in the US. Please keep us posted if you find a source as I am interested as well. The 602 is getting light strikes so I only use it to practice with as it misfires too much.

Greetings,
When is the last time you replaced the recoil spring?
I do not know if Raffaele is still at this address; but, he was most helpful regarding parts.
Raffaele Mencarelli DOMINO S.r.l. <lele@dominoguns.com>
Raffaele is Massimo's son.
Forgot to ask, what ammunition are you having difficulty with? Commercial or hand loads?
Cheers,
Dave

Thanks for response Dave,
Not sure if / when the previous owner ever replaced recoil spring. If I had to guess never.
That said, I looking to find a source for parts. - Saleen322 mentioned potter in Australia. I will try them.
I will also try Raffaele
Regarding loads, currently my friend has a 32 and has supplied me with ammo. loading , 1.7 gr. Bullseye.

I sourced parts directly from Raffaele in 2019. I used the email address:

Re: FAS model 603 S&W L feeding issue
Greetings,
Just remembered.
There are at least two variations of the FAS 603. The early one had an upper with two large chamfers on each side and a bolt with rather large "ears".
The later models had a rectangular shaped top cover and the bolt "ears" were smaller.
I received some recoil springs from Raffaele and one was different in length and wire diameter.
If I know which model you have, I can offer the dimensions of new springs so you can determine if yours is getting shorter/weaker.
I do have a temporary fix for the tired springs. Once I know what I am working with I will post the process.
Cheers,
Dave
