I have no way of determining hardness of primer cups. All, I can say is that the Magtech primers worked very well in my S&W 52. No misfires. I never tried them in a revolver.

My impression from using them is that they are not soft enough for your revolver. Federal is still the way to go. Fine for all other uses. Similar to Winchester or CCI.
