Hammerli X-Esse Broken Ejector Fix
So I was doing what I thought was a simple reliability repair on a X-Esse and discovered a broken ejector. They are cast into the receiver. So I machined a slot through the existing ejector to capture the new piece that I silver soldered in place. Pain in the butt because I enjoy others things more, but it turned out nice.
Here’s a couple pics. Second pic is after cold bluing applied.

I see where the foot of that L shape could be a problem area being cast in place. Nice fix. Might be a PITA but it's makes you feel good bringing another firearm back in service.

Had not heard of the ejector failures. Is this due to round count?
Also, great job on repair, could not see it after the bluing.

Beautiful.
I think the newer design uses a separate part which is pinned into the frame at the front. Must be a reason for that change. #50/2829282/"Ausstoßer" at https://www.carl-walther.de/uploads/media/partsdrawings/Ha%CC%88mmerli_x-esse_2773473_k.pdf
My question too - what would break it? Did the underside of the slide hit it going back into battery?

Not sure as to round count or cause. Pistol was problematic for a couple of reasons. This was just one of them. As stated, it is a cast part, so it could have had a congenital birth defect lol.

Both mine are late model. Need to see if ejector is integral to frame. Low round count for BE pistols. It run like clockwork.
I can see how no ejector might give you some issues.

The pre Steel Frame Long has the separate pinned ejector. Assume this was a running model change.

Yup, both of my 2021 SF Xesse's have the roll pin style retained ejectors.
