S&W Model 52 Pachmayr Grips
Has anyone used or tried the Pachmayr rubber grips for a Smith and Wesson Model 52 before? Do you have any good or bad things to share about them? Before I buy some to try I thought I'd ask here what peoples experiences were like. Thanks.

I have, and I like them. I don't have my gun in front of me to look, and I can't remember if they are "clamshell" style and therefore provide a rubber cover in front of the grip strap, but they seem to add a bit of width, and make the grip less slippery. Overall I have been pleased and have used them for a long time.
Well, I looked and they are clamshell and also have a backstrap cover. The latter stays in place, pinched by the side panels. It does make the grip larger fore and aft as well.

I held my buddies 52 yesterday with them. He loves them but feel a bit fat for my liking but my hands aren't real huge. Makes it feel more like a double stack to me.

I like a lot the pachmayr grips in my 52-2, i use without the back strap. Sadly sharkskin grips not available for 52, high standards, etc.

I picked up my 52 tonight with stock grips, they're still chunky but the pachs are definitely bigger. Honestly wish the stock 52 was thinner and would also like sharkskins. But then we'd basically be back to a 1911 lol.

I saw one that Jerry Keefer did once that had flat pieces of metal with grip tape for grips. Virtually nothing for grips. The shooter had small hands I understood. The grips were the least to talk about that particular gun. Something neat.

Yeah I just this lol If Len likes them, then they're bound to be on the "large" side of the scale. A couple of days ago I bought I pair online and I'm waiting for them to arrive. I'll try them and worst case scenario I don't use them, and put them aside. It'll be one more thing to add to pile if I ever resell the gun and it's accessories.
