Reflex sight for Bullseye
Does anyone use a reflex sight on a 1911. On a budget not wanting to drill and tap to install a rail

Above is the only one I know of. I have one, different version, on my P-220 Carry 45 and it works very well. No issue to date.

Most of the reflex sights can be mounted on a 1911 dovetail. You see them on bullseye lines occasionally, but I can't recall seeing a top level shooter with one.
Most of the reflex sights I've seen (I've not seen them all) lack click adjustment (just a dial to rotate) and have backlash or inconsistent adjustments making it harder to adjust back and forth between 25 and 50 yards.
The only one I've seen that had click adjustments is the Vortex Venom. It has clicks, but they are not very easy to feel. I don't know if it has backlash, but if I had to use one I would start with it.

Both of these are Burris Fast Fire 3 reflex dots. One is on my 52 and the other is on my 745. I chose a reflex over a tube dot because I did not want to drill and tap either of these guns. They work well and are robust enough. The major issue is the potential for dirt and debris as well as the lack of sunshades…but those are minor except at Perry.

Not a 1911 but used one on a MG2 EVO. Had a piece of dust or something on the lense so my round dot was more like a miniature squiggly line. Was kind of fun shooting a match and trying to figure out which part of the squiggly line is the X. Huge fan of enclosed dots now for bullseye pistols.
