Camp Perry 1911 Deals
I was wondering if any of the vendors usually run a "Camp Perry special" on 1911 hardball service pistols that I should be on the look out for. I finally got all my pennies together and am looking to pick one up or get one on order.
Thanks!

I got a deal on a wad gun from Rock River last year.
Frerking Gun Works may have some on hand.

I’ll second Rock River. They typically will have some pistols built and ready for sale at Perry. A deal on price is relative these days but having minimal delivery time is usually a driving factor with competition guns.
Good luck.

+1 for Rock River.
Springfield has had some deals. They used to bring (hopefully still will) guns that had been loaned to journalists or used for demos which sold at a discount. A few years ago when the new generation of XD's came out they sold a bunch of the older models. I wish I'd bought more than the one I got.
Caspian has had blemished frames and slides for sale at a discount.

That's depressing
So I read where Rock River Arms will have 1911's for sale at Perry and I can understand that. What is depressing is I ordered a RRA Hardball back in late April and was told it would be 6-8 months to get the pistol, the factory originally quoted me a "few" months wait. I figure they only have a couple of guys building the match guns and lord knows I don't want to rush them. Maybe it will get here in time for my retirement in December and no later than March 2023 since that is the CMP Western Games

If you don't get your gun in time I will most likely be at the Western Games and will have a very nice RRA hardball gun you can borrow.

That is very kind of you sir, to extend such an offer to someone you have not met goes beyond words. If RRA holds to their time table I should be getting the pistol around Christmas, February at the latest. If not I have my current pistol (Auto-Ordnance, not stock) while not in the same class as the RRA is most likely better than I am. I did quite a bit of research before deciding to take the plunge and go with RRA, they seem to have a very good reputation, I own three of their NM AR's that I shoot high power rifle with and they are good quality.
I look forward to seeing you there, it is always a good time.

I was in RRA today on vender row at Camp Perry and they had at least 2 45 bullseye guns for sale with the test targets. I don’t recall the price exactly but they are available now if you want one.
