Who Accurizes Revolvers.
A friend I was shooting next to at a match was telling me about how he uses his most accurate chamber for all ten shots in slow fire. While I was doing some RR testing I brought my model 14 and shot it off a rest. 5 shots in each chamber. One chamber would hold the ten ring. Another would hold 9/8 ring. The next three only about half the rounds would stay on the repair center and the last one wouldn't. I'm trying to find someone to accurize my pistol. A friend of a friend gave me the name, Blake Gann. He builds competition revolvers. Unfortunately his number on the web is no longer in service. Anyone know of someone that an perform this service?

Re: Who Accurizes Revolvers.
Greetings,
Prior to sending the gun off for repair, verify it is broken.
Is the gun free of Lead fouling in the throat and cylinders?
Were you using commercial 148 WadCutter of known accuracy?
All the K-38's I have Random Rested with good ammo hold the ten ring at 50 yards with twelve shots. Yes, I use all cylinders.
Cheers,
Dave

It is a S&W Model 14-6 38 Special. I am working toward my NRA Distinguished Badge therefore I have to use 158gr lead bullets. I have used Commercial Magtech but they were terrible. I will give it a good cleaning and try again.

Re: Who Accurizes Revolvers.
I asked Jerry Keefer after he was no longer taking in work who he recommended and he said Mark Hartshorne at Pinnacle High Performance Revolvers in PA.
edit: never mind. he is also not taking in work at this time. https://pinnaclehighperformance.com/
I used to own a MOJO custom, until I bought a Keefer, and it was a solid shooter. I would recommend him also.

Known, accurate match ammo-Old Federal red and white box.
I don't have enough to do 12 rounds, but all cylinders were used at least once.
Low shot was witnessed as the first shot from a clean barrel.
Remaining 9 shots are X ring

Re: Who Accurizes Revolvers.
My 14-6 does well at 50 yards and it is stock. Bullet type/brand/size make a lot of difference. I had one bullet that I molded that could not be stabilized and shot all over the place.
Take a bullet of known size and use it as a pin gauge to determine different throat diameters. Find the size of the smallest throat. Next determine actual bore size.
If the throat sizes are larger than bore the pistol should shoot accurately. If the throat is smaller by .001 it should still shoot.
I use 3.5 g. of WST with a home cast 158g. SWC. They are roll crimped in the crimping groove. Accuracy is 1 3/4" at 50 yards.
I went through several loads to find a accurate load.
Factory ammo that was considered accurate was Mag-tech and Remington in the white green box.

Maybe Sam. You can learn more about him www.samscustomgunworksusa.com.
Back in the days when I competed in NRA Bullseye, I shot a commercial 1911 accurized by Al Dinan and a .38 Super-converted to .38 Special and accurized by Jim Clark. They were superb guns. Any time I missed the X-ring (which was all too often) I knew it was me and not the guns.

Re: Who Accurizes Revolvers.
One of the old PPC accurizing tricks was to recut the forcing cone. Some of them are pretty rough, but worse was that some were not concentric to the bore. So, I wonder, is this the cause of some guns being inaccurate? I also wonder if you can alter it in the rules?

Keefer and I once discussed that.
We both felt nothing wrong by bringing it back to factory perfection.
