high standard supermatic citation slide Empty high standard supermatic citation slide

Post by garandman1944 8/30/2022, 10:09 pm

I purchased a parts gun recently and it came without a barrel and slide and a couple small parts.
I have all the parts except the slide and I found that the older slldes don't fit. I have a couple that go on the frame, but won't go back all the way. It seems like they are too low to fit over the upper, back part of the frame.
The serial # is1068818.
Does anyone know what slide I need?
Thanks

It is a 1960 mfg so the old slide should fit.
Call HS Montana and see if they have one or can help

Is this a slant or Military grip?

I have reason to believe the early slant grip slides were machined underneath behind the firing pin head a little different that the later slides.  This related to the clipped and un clipped recoil lug.  I may be wrong here .  But I did hog out in the FP area then the slide worked on an unclipped frame

Are the frame rails bent? Is the recoil lug peened or broomed over?

You might try on the High Standard page on Rimfire Central.

I have 3 slldes and none of them fit. There seems to be a slight variation in early and late slides.
Thanks

This is a slant grip and I may try your method on the worst condition slide I have.
Thanks

The frame is in unaltered or undamaged VG+ condition.
