Bomar sight screw detent problem Empty Bomar sight screw detent problem

Hi all,

My sight screw detent isn't engaging, it just flops around in its hole.

Anyone know they get their tension and how to fix it?

I suspect it's a bent piece of spring rod but don't know how it's held in place

Old clark 38 by the way

Thanks

Hi Bruce,
Most of my Bomar's had a coil spring under the elevator screw.

Spring and ball detent are held captive in a hole that goes from the very front of the leaf to the elevation screw. They are held in place by the leaf cross pin.

Check the carpet closely for the spring. And the dust bunnies under your garage workbench.

When you take apart a rear sight it’s best to do it in bed under the covers.

I damaged it putting it back together last year, l didn't know what it was then.

I had a spare assembly and replaced it all but would like to find a spring somewhere. It's pretty small, like 0.065 dia by 0.46 long, 25 thou wire.  Thanks

Kensight has replacement parts for your sight.
