Jumped in Head First and then I did it again!
Hello from California!
I stumbled across a guy recently on a local forum who was selling a 1969 Super 38 which was converted by Clark Sr. to a .38 special Wadcutter 6" in early 1970. This was the first time I had heard of wadcutters being used in semi autos so I was immediately intrigued. I snatched up the gun, mostly on curiosity and a whim.
I then got reading about wadcutters in revolvers which had a whole hell of a lot more information floating around. It is then that I discovered the Colt Officers model Special and the Smith & Wesson K38 (Model 14). Just a few days ago, a beautiful S&W 14-4 in .38 special popped up and I couldnt refuse. Its as if I have dove into the deep end of the pool without floaties but am currently keeping my head above water.
Am I crazy?! Its a pleasure to be on board the bullseye express! Now I need to go shoot them and enter my first bullseye competition.

Welcome from a relative newcomer. You aren’t crazy, you’re just from California if you enjoy a challenge, shooting, and learning new things, you’ll love it.
You’ll to want to add a .22 rimfire pistol. And you’ll get lots of advice if reading the bizzillion posts that already exist don’t answer a question! Plus maybe some offers to sell a good one.

Being crazy is somewhat of a requirement.
You've got a couple of classic, pretty toys.

Be sure to get a good 22. In fact, quality guns are capital equipment.
A 22 is precise and economical to use and teaches many skills needed for centerfire.
Lots of good advice on this board. Welcome.
