Elliason accurized 1911's
I have two 1911's accurized by George H. Elliason in 1962, have the signed test targets also. One is a commercial 1911 in .45 ACP with two fitted mags, the other is a 3-digit serial number Colt Mk III with two mags. What paperwork I have indicates that the MK III went directly from Colt to Elliason. Colt also provided him with another barrel, front bushing, sear, trigger, disconnector and hammer in the 'white'. According to Bill Jenkins book on US Military match pistols, various civilian smiths submitted samples of their work for comparison to the pistols being built by service armorers, Elliason was the most accurate. I have no idea how many pistols Elliason built. I understand that his primary business was pistol sights. Any information is appreciated.

Is your GCNM .38 Mid Range pistol serial# 484-MR? If so, I have some information for you. Send me a PM.

Okay, got some serious reloading to get out of the way (benchrest league), but I'll try and get pictures posted next week.
