Now that my long-time friend and gunsmith Lou Lombardi has retired, who do you now recommend to cut down a 7" model 41 barrel to 6".

I still believe he was the best.   Your thoughts please!

If he is still doing this, I'd recommend Buddy Chapman. He has been doing this for decades. Here is his last known contact information: Buddy Chapman 795 FM 513. Lone Oak 75453 (903) 447-2546.

Alex Hamilton (tenring.com) definitely knows his way around a model 41. If I were going to send it to him, I'd probably also consider having the barrel relined.

John,
I had a 5 1/2 heavy barrel that didn't shoot as good as I thought it should so I took it to Mark Arrow and the crown was off center.  He cut the end of the barrel just a bit to true it up and recrowned it.  It shot better but not as good as I wanted so I gave that barrel to my dad.  The work was good the barrel just didn't shoot that good.
