Very cool! One notes that Doc was a dental specialist (prosthodontist) - a field not unknown for shooting acumen (present company excluded).

Nice article. I competed against some of the Air Force shooters at Camp Bullis, back in the day. Ralph Talbot organized the matches and was still posting terrific scores of his own. Those were great days and competing against better shooters helped spur me on. I lucked out and earned my final leg at a regional match there.

I was squadded with Ralph a couple times here in Austin. Just a couple years ago. Great guy. But I had no idea he'd coached the Airforce team. That was fun to read.

Ralph is a regular at Bayou Rifles in Houston. In his mid 80's, he continues to show us youngsters how it's done. As a member of the "2650 club", he is an inspiration to all and we value his presence on the line.
