92x performance
Dose anyone here have one and what kind of accuracy? I sold a 92 fs a few years back that shot amazingly. Been trying to find one that’ll shoot the same. Easy 1/2 in groups at 25 yards.
Was wondering about getting a 92x and if it doesn’t do what I wanted trying a fitted Kim barrel. I’m 48 eyes anit what they were got my first red dot on a volquartsen 22. Really injoying it. I want something red dot ready and I’ll be happy if I can get 1 in at 25 yards. Getting new glasses in 2 weeks. Hopefully I can still shot sights if not then red dot it is.

Re: 92x performance
They’re hit and miss, pardon the pun.
Some tighten the muzzle with a piece of tin but you can tape it too. 92 match guns are exorbitantly expensive and delicate. Better choices out there

Re: 92x performance
I had a 92x that was accurate enough. It just wouldn’t feed even hardball. Springs were tried, mags were switched, ammo varied with bullet profile, OAL, powder charge, primers switched type and mfg.
Sold it to a fellow shooter at a loss. He knew the gun’s history, but was convinced of his Beretta skills.
Beretta has now seen more of that pistol than the current owner or me

Dave Salyer, KC, and perhaps others can do a lot of things to improve a Beretta 92's groups that are not as expensive as a no-holds-barred accurization, they just won't be as durable. A large part of it is a trigger job and fitting a barrel that will be uniformly positioned at the rear.

If you really want a 92, there is one on GB I built a while ago. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/996236512 I have NFI in this one. Just timing if you're looking for a match 92.
Re: 92x performance
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my 92x Performance. Got it about 3 months ago. Handles fantastic and I can shoot the center out of things at 15 yards which says a LOT for me.

I hope we can get more info on this topic. I am also thinking about buying a 92X performance. Marty

If you want a “better” option, look at an M17 clone. More or less optics ready from the get go, and just as accurate. This was a test of an M17/P320 vs several 92 models including a custom by Langdon. There are “competition triggers” for the 320 available.

Orion…. I looked at your gun. I am very new at target shooting with bigger calibers than a Ruger Mark IV 22LR. This will be my first purchase of a bigger caliber target pistol. In your add you say slow burning ammo shoots the best. What would you recommend for your pistol that is factory ammo ? I don’t reload ? Marty

Do you really want a 92? I don't see a reason to get one.
For serious bullseye use you're better of with a 1911. Jon is finishing my custom 6" 9mm with a RRA combo rib.
If you want something with more mag capacity for run and gun or similar look at the nicer CZ 75's. I've got a CZ Custom Accushadow. The ergos are far and away better than a 92. Also a huge market for aftermarket parts.
I've got a Italian Beretta 82 Cheetah from when the Italians let a bunch go on the surplus market a few years back. Scratches my itch for a traditional Beretta double stack. Great condition, really full little 32acp.

My service pistol (iron sights) is a Beretta and I love it. Also have 1911s with red dots.
Yes, the Berettas cost more, tend to be more picky, and they make smaller holes. They're still cool.

Beretta installed a plate in each of the M9A4s, all you need is a scope and scope base plate.

Hi Marty, I found WST (slow burning) and VV N340 (medium burning) to work great with this pistol when I was shooting it. I never shot factory ammo through it, except for some remanufactured loads (~25 rounds) to benchmark my reloads.
Re: 92x performance
Orion…. Thanks for the info on possible good hand loads for a Beretta 92FS pistol models I am 65 years old and never reloaded and at this late in the game just don’t think reloading would be for me. If any one knows a good factory load for the new 92X performance optic ready models or the older 92FS please let me know. Thanks Marty’

Re: 92x performance
My Kidd custom Beretta, built on a Brigadier 92 FS pistol would do better than that at 50 yards from a Ransom Rest with the right hand loaded or factory match ammo. Hopefully the present owner is happy with it still!Wobbley wrote:If you want a “better” option, look at an M17 clone. More or less optics ready from the get go, and just as accurate. Atlanta Arms 115 grain fmj was my go to factory ammo for my Kidd accurized Beretta. Since you are not restricted to fmj and certain weight ammo any longer by CMP, I don't see why this ammo wouldn't be as good or better: https://atlantaarms.com/products/elite-9mm-115gr-jhp-match.htmlNDAR15MAN wrote:Orion….
