Pardini SP ammo problem
I have a Pardini SP, older model, I have been using Wolf Target Match ammo and it has been awesome for the past 12 years. But since Eely has taken it over and hardened the rim of the case, I get a lot of miss fires and fail to fire. The case strikes are hard enough to dent the case rim, but not hard enough to detonate the primer. (Old wolf manufacture had cross hairs as a head stamp, newly manufactured has a “E” as a head stamp)
I know it’s not the gun. So I guess my question is. Have any of you heard of this problem and what can I do about it.
I was told you can “trim” down the contact edge of the firing pin, making it a little narrower and “sharper edged” Which I may order an additional pin and try it.
I tried CCI target ammo, but the Pardini does not like CCI. Apparently, the rounds are too long and get stuck in the magazine causing failure to feed issues.
I was told by Pardini, that basically I use “cheap” ammo and need to go to more “higher end ammo”.
Thank you all for your time and I look forward to hearing from so other Pardini shooters out there.
Sincerely
Mark

Never tried Wolf, don't like CCI, but I have found that Aguila Super Extra SV runs fine in my Pardini's. Accuracy is good, but I still prefer to use Eley Bullseye Pistol X (as recommended by Pardini USA) for matches.

SK Pistol Match and Eley Club work well in my SP BE, so newer model but I'd be surprised if you have issues. Either the SK or the Lapua or both also use that cross hairs headstamp.

I'd try a new firing pin first. How old is your current one?

Prior to Eley making Wolf Target Match, it was made by SK.....and both cases had the same head stamps, just different packaging. SK Standard Plus is the same as the pre-Eley Wolf Target match. Hope that helps.

I have a Nygord (4 weight) Pardini Sp. I have had good success with Eley Bullseye X, Target, Aguila SE SV. As stated, CCI SV is unreliable feeding due to length. Norma Match shot well but I had some ignition issues with current batch. S&B club was reliable and accurate, just a little dirty at the breechface.

Hiya,
Since it’s an older pistol, have you changed the hammer spring and checked the chamber for a carbon ring preventing the case from seating firmly against the barrel until the firing pin hits it? Another thing to check is cludge buildup in the firing pin bore slowing down the pin just as it strikes the case.
Hope it helps,,

Yes, when I change the fining pin, I replaced the return spring and the firing pin spring. I cleaned the entire interior of the pistol and breach surface was clean.
I am going to try different ammo suppliers. I ordered some Aguila SE SV and will try that this week. I will investigate others, but if the Aguila works I will get a brick of that and shoot the summer league with it. I look into get SK and Eley but both of the recommended choices were out of stock. Thank you all for your help and input, please keep the ideas coming.
