XD-M 5.25 Re-visited
I was getting ready to give up on my XD-M since my eyes really don't like steel sights. I previously purchased a unit from Israel that allowed me to mount a full size red dot on it but plastic mounted to plastic gave me let's call it "inconsistent " results. I didn't leave it set up like that for very long. The XDM became a safe queen. Just recently I discovered that Springer Precision (NFI) was making a mount for it that replaced the rear sight. This was about the easiest sight replacement I've ever done. One pin and one screw and it was ready for a whole bunch of mini red dots. I went with a Fast fire 3 because I like the way they turn on. This target (25yd) shows a couple of sight in shots and the rest were me emptying the rest of the 14rd magazine. They would of all held 10 ring on a B16 target. I guess I won't throw it away yet.

The XDM will be a good starter pistol in Bianchi Cup type matches Production class and with the Red Dot will qualify for Production with optics. With an after market barrel up-grade (allowed since it's available to everyone) Adam won production class at Bianchi Cup with XDM with iron sights. (optic production was not an option at the time)

I just received the exact setup you have. Will be installing it on my XD-M 5.25 45 ACP pistol.
My 75 year old eyes with tri focal glasses just can't cut Iron Sights. I have a Fast Fire III on my
Ruger Mark IV stainless model and really enjoy shooting it at Bullseye matches at my club.

I highly recommend the Powder River (Eastern Oregon) drop in trigger kit for the XDM.
