Dot mount on Les Baer
My Hammerli 208 has a Wilkins Docter plate mounted Vortex Venom dot. It works well and I would like something similar on my new LB Premier II*. I don't like the idea of frame mount / drilling and tapping. The LB has an adjustable rear sight that is press-fit into a dovetail. Somewhere on this forum I saw a post about this in the past, but searching I wasn't able to find it.
These MSP Doctor plates are available which are stated to work for this application. I contacted LB about this and they weren't sure.

Any experience with these mounts? Will the dot be too high?
Thanks
JHH

Re: Dot mount on Les Baer
Problem with EGW is that it sitson top as a plate, not blended into the slide. I have Burris mount for novak and it blends in beautifully with tbe radius to the slide. Here is one for bomar application. Installation feels cheap, wobbly and weird. When tightened up it feels solid and held perfect zero for the past 5 years. No sharp edges, looks good.

Not at all. So the mount is actually 2 pieces. Slide one into dove tail (it is very lose in there) and then put plate on top and tighten with 2 screws. It tightens up the 2 pieces to each other very well, and because bottom is beveled it centers itself to the slide. I think on Bomar it may screw into front existing hole as well. On Novak it is held by 2 screws and no issues at all.

Yes. But does it hold the dot higher than a single plate mount?Tripscape wrote:See how clean it looks?

I would say about the same. Pictured is on Novak dovetail,so back would seem higher, but it is not because Novak is cut lower. Look at the pic of the front.
