El Paso Texas People/Matches

Aloha Y'all,

I'll be moving from Hawaii to El Paso, Texas, and need to get back into the bullseye game.

Not sure if the matches survived COVID...I've been in Hawaii since shortly after the 'Rona started...and I've not been able to keep up the craft.

I may be buying a few new guns, possibly a Dillon and a house...just in case anyone in the area is getting out of the game.

Unfortunately Houston is too far of a drive for a match.

There is a once a month match held at the Ft. Bliss Rod & Gun club, .22 only, and slow fire on a sustained fire target. It is put on by Shriners

There are a couple of folks who meet on Wednesdays every week to shoot a couple of 900's.
I don't know what is happening in Las Cruces these days. They used to have a mid week geezers match also.
Only Ft. Bliss has turning target capability but I dont think they are using them. I had repaired them about 7 years ago, before I came to Tucson

Pretty sure that I’ve seen that Midland club has matches, it’s about 300 miles but a lot shorter than 750 miles / 10-11 hours to Houston lol

I heard something about a 'leg match' the other day in El Paso. Team event, TxNG vs Mexico.

Interested.  My son just moved to El Paso to go to school and play football.  It'd be cool to pick up a match on visits if possible. 

Worst case, when you get there go eat at Keke's Mexican Restaurant.  Amazing food to be found in El Paso.  Maybe getting fat can be a new hobby?  LOL.

Sorry, that was a joke in bad taste. Allegedly, NG has been shooting over the heads of people on the other side of the river, and someone was hit in the leg.

Not yet in Hawaii nor here in Texas either. I’m logged in using an IBM Selectric.  Sorry my desk is a mess.

There are a number of issues with Hawaii, civics education and lack of land mass are the biggest reasons I couldn’t shoot there.
