It’s on a Colt gold cup NM. One of the older once’s that had the Eliason sights.

My swag is probably a family coat of arms of a previous owner? Someone with knowledge of heraldry may be able to help.

Yeah. It looks to me like a family crest. I can identify a lion, calipers, and ordinance symbol and I think the top is naval.

I'm thinking that it is more likely to do with a society or guild - maybe a gunsmith guild? The calipers are usually suggesting a skilled tradesperson (originally stone-masons, I think). The Lion is known as a "charger" and represents bravery - or possibly skill.
The pot is a new one to me - it could represent some kind of munition - but it could equally be metallurgical - a foundry?
The crest on the top is not clear enough in the photo, the foliage is not drawn very elegantly, but that could simply be down to the skill of the engraver. Don't know why you suspect Naval.
There are many websites dealing with Heraldry - but it is hard to track down a coat of arms using the image only.
Interesting though.

The Chisholm clan motto is Feros Ferio (I am Fierce with the Fierce) and the clan crest is a hand holding a boars head atop a dagger.
I would have attached the image, but my phone (or, rather, my dexterity) did not facilitate.

That symbol has been ever present in my life since very early memory.I had a zippo made with it when I turned 18, I have a kilt pin somewhere too. Some day I need to go visit Erchless Castle.

If you can believe the Utah connections, when I climbed my family tree via ancestry, I found many England connected names. North, Percy, Howard, Stafford, Eckerly, Edward I, II, III, John Lackland, Lord Lt of Ireland, lots of Dukes and Earls. And the Empress of the Holy Roman Empire...... Lots of crests shown too. The name Majors is the starting point. Family lore always says we were related to Lord North. Some Roger and Caleb Norths fought on our side

Sadly. All of us are descended from someone noble. Whether legitimate or not!
But, on the firing line, one's lineage is all for nought!

Probably, although his ancestry is not well documented, he was “King of the Hunnic empire.
