Distinguished Revolver Empty Distinguished Revolver

I am in the market for a revolver to be used in getting my Distinguished Revolver achievement.

My question is what length of barrel 4,5 or 6 inch?

6" is my choice. Go with what feels and shoots well from your hand.

6" has advantage in sight radius but needs better follow-through.

S&W K-frame revolvers seem to have the biggest bullseye following.

A friend has a Ruger GP-100 and likes that.  I don't like that the hammer is so far away that it's almost impossible to reach up and recock for single action rapid fire.

S&W target models have a "target hammer" that makes it easy to recock with the thumb of the shooting hand so you can shoot single action for every shot.

I have the S&W Model k-14 6" target masterpiece.  I rather like it.  If I could only find a DR round that it shoots well.

I picked up a S&W K 14-4 that has target hammer and trigger work from the performance shop great gun. I found it to be too light and needed the extra weight of a barrel lug. I picked up a S&W 586 replaced the front sight with a target sight and did a trigger job.  Shoots great but nowhere as smooth as the K14-4!

Best round for accuracy so far 158gr SWC & 2.9 Clays - it shoots well in both these guns.
