Where to mount a dot?
I have a Browning Buckmark .22 target with a bull barrel and rail.
I picked up a bushnell trs-25. Having never had a dot before I would like to know where you reccommend I mount it?
Center front to back, 3/4 toward rear, all the way back, or somewhere in between.
Thanks,
John

What works for me is not right for you.
Mount the dot at the various points availible then do some dry firing
Leave it where the balance makes YOU happy
just sayin
your mileage may vary

experiment with it in what ever options you have and see what feels best and has the best balance, long as it doesnt effect the shells from ejecting then your good

Another factor is the perception of dot movement at different distances from the pivot point.

I get the steadiest dot with the center of the dot scope mounted as close to the center balance point of the pistol.
