What rings AP 9000sc on Marvel
Evening all. I have an Aimpoint 9000sc on my Marvel unit one. The slide hits the rear ring when I have the rings over the part of the rib that cycles. I can move the rings up and they work fine, but then the balance is terrible. Does anyone use this combo? What rings are you using?

It sounds like the bottom of the ring mount where it clamps onto the rail is making contact with the slide. If that be the case, remove the Unit one from the 1911. Separate the upper portion of the Unit 1 from the lower. Look at the bottom of the ring mount clamp. If I understand you correctly then there would be rub marks there, and you may actually be able to determine that the ring mount hangs lower than the upper portion of the Unit 1. On mine, I simply took a file and removed any material from the bottom of the ring mount clamp which hung below the bottom of the upper portion of the Unit 1. If this not be the case, I misunderstood what you were explaining. Another option is to obtain a "wide" ring mount from Aimpoint and go with one ring. Aimpoint is very fond of those wide rings. I think they are $80-90.

That is exactly the issue. I removed the ring and filed/stoned a good amount off of the bottom of the ring, but it is still rubbing I was weary of filing more, but maybe I will try. TY for the response.

You can also just use one scope ring in the front of the scope as well. Technically a bit more "fragile" but has been done that way for a while.

Aimpoint makes a wide mount, specifically for that purpose. The shorter scopes like the old Comp3 only came with a single wide ring mount. I use a Comp3 slide mounted on my .45 with single wide mount.

Thank you! I’ll have to do a deep interweb look. It appears they discontinued the wide rings.

Call Aimpoint, or send a customer support email. Sometimes, they can "find" things!
