Re: New build wad gun
Moderately curious, what is the current lead time? I don't need another barrel right now but the last one I ordered took a while to get.

Re: New build wad gun
Never have seen the need for ramped barrel, it is threaded for a coned sleeve. Ordered Feb 22, arrived yesterday.
I sold my wad gun and quit bullseye for a bit, no matches around here and too busy with work and kids. It was a really cool wad gun but not exactly what I wanted. So I will slowly collect parts, eventually get it built and maybe in a few years we will move again to somewhere there are matches.
I have tried a frame mount with 1:13 barrel and coned-sleeve full length dust cover separately, loved both so why not have both!
Plan is:
Full length dustcover JEM frame, JEM slide with no sight cuts, 20LPI
SAMS frame mount, Aimpoint 9000sc, Photoescape shades
1:13 KKM barrel, DRC tungsten coned bushing
FL tungsten guide rod
Black finish, semi-gloss cerakote or something like that, easy clean up, doesn't show fingerprints or reflection
Harrison ignition set and trigger
All other parts EGW
Should be cool.

Good lookin gun... looks like I will be using a steel DRC cone as well, they said not planning to make any more tungsten any time soon, they don't sell well apparently.jglenn wrote:
One of my 2 kkm cone barreled wad guns. Also used a DRC screw on cone but in steel. Both shoot very well. Have fun with your build

I don't like ramped barrels. I use Briley Bushings that I fit and slightly modify. Use very small radius on lower lug and slide mount scope base that I make.
I might add that there is quite a bit between assembling a Bullseye gun from parts and a tack driver. Knowing how to make a 1911 tack drive is needed! No you will not buy a book or watch Youtube Video to learn how! Kuhnhausen never built a gun or knew how!
