34th Annual NRA New England Regional Pistol Championship "Lobster Match" Sept 6th-8th
Hey all, Just wanted to put the bug in peoples ears early about the upcoming Lobster Match, Sept 6th - 8th at the Scarborough Fish and Game in Scarborough Maine. We are located about 1 1/4 hours from Boston directly on the coast just south of Portland Maine. Here are the links to the club as well as the link for the Lobster Match. (https://scarfg.org/disciplines/pistol/) (https://scarfg.org/event/nra-new-england-regional-pistol-championships/)
If you have never been to the match its about time you do. The club is one of the nicest in New England and has a covered 52 lane Bullseye range. There are camping sites on the premise which, I believe will be available during the match. If you are interested in camping, let me know and I will gather more details.
As you all know, participation in shooting sports is declining and, precision pistol is declining more than most disciplines. We would love to have a full roster for this event and over the next few years build it back to its former glory. If you are serious about bullseye shooting, this is a bucket list event.
We also have a 2700 match coming up on August 4th and, if you are close enough to come up for a one day event, we would love to have you.

Just bumping to the top to remind everyone that your time is running out to register for the best bullseye match in the northeast. Hope to see you there.

Keep your fingers crossed. Saturday is the most important day and, the meal is that night and, it is looking decent. Sunday is the only bad looking day and it is still only 45% chance of precipitation. As you mentioned though, everyone will still have a good time even if it does rain.Termite wrote:Weather not looking so great so far. Gotta go with the flow and have a great time anyway. It was nice to meet you Glenn. This match went beyond my expectations by a long shot. Everything was top notch especially the lobster dinner. Very friendly people and will definatly be back next year and hopefully with a few more people.
My goal was to finish in the top half and missed by 1. Finished 20th out of 38 shooters and shot my best agg so very happy. Had to do a slow fire refire due to my friend cross firing on me (yes that was me). It paid off since I gained 5 points by refiring. Was worried because the wind really picked up by that time
All worked out
Thanks again for an outstanding tournament

Great to meet you guys too and very glad you enjoyed yourselves. You guys shot pretty well but, there were the top 3 shooters from the national matches in attendance as well as 6-7 more military team members. When those folks are there, its hard to break into that top half. I think my wife may try to come down your way in October so, I may see you guys again then. If not, I hope you do make it down next year.Termite wrote:It was nice to meet you Glenn. This match went beyond my expectations by a long shot. It is impossible to get a better lobster bake than at this match! Two FRESH OFF THE BOAT lobsters, steamers, mussels, corn on the cob, chowder, blueberry cake, and coffee. Am I missing anything? What would a real clam bake cost you? At $175 for the match AND the food you can’t miss. Heck, a 2# lobster runs $75 in Gloucester…pass.
Besides it’s one of the best meets in the country. I would like to see International return on Friday; it used to feature Free, Standard, and Centerfire. Who was it in honor of I can’t recall. I struggled with 45 until I realized that I overgrip just enough to inhibit good trigger control. My recoil rRecovery skills are lacking due to injuries but it’s still fun. Sold a few books and heard from folks that the book had helped. A great big thank you to all the staff at Scarborough Fish & Game for pulling this off. It’s a gigantic effort. See you and others next year!
