s&w 52-2 and 52-1

Question : will the 52-2 and 52-1 uppers interchange on the lowers?

Interesting question and one I don't have an answer to even though I own several 52's.  Unfortunately, I only own 52-2's.  I will await an answer on this.

They are, well, to some extent, since the 52's were pretty much hand fitted at the factory, swapping slides and frames may require additional fitting.

The slide should interchange between the M52-1 and M52-2.

The only change was the extractor mechanism.

The M52 was a hand fit pistol. It is possible that the replacement slide will not slip on.

Conversely, the replacement slide might be a sloppy fit.

thank you i have someone willing to sell me a 52-1 complete upper but now im a little worried if wont fit right

well you just have to fit it to the frame just as any .45 you change uppers on, you may get Luckey? My father and I before his passing , Built a .45 with a Remington Rand slide and a NM bushing and barrel and we went out and bought a cheap frame, under $300 from Fusion firearms in Naples Fl. The frame to slide fit is so tight you would swear that they were fitted for one another!
