I have read where you can replace your Dillon powder measure with a Hornaday Loc&Load powder measure, has anyone done this and how do you like the new setup?

Yes, it works ok.  I’ve also used RCBS “Uniflow” powder measures similarly when equipped with the “case activation” linkages.  Some of the parts between the Hornady and RCBS interchange.  The main advantages are LESS powder spillage and easier and repeatable adjustment.  I prime with a separate run through my machine so the priming column is removed for loading.

In the same vein, I use Lee disk type measures. They’re case activated and very precise.  Also use a RCBS micrometer drum measure stuffed into a Le powder through die for 32s

Thanks for the replies. Is using the drum style powder measures more accurate than the Dillon slide bar type.
Looking to get more consistent powder throws.

Using a Hornady LNL powder measure manually.  Checked it every 50 rounds by dumping 5 loads and weighing that. Target was 3.4 grains per so scale weight target was 17.0. All tests were 17.0 to 16.8 with the majority were 16.9.  Yeah they’re consistent.

I also like the drum type measure. And, I can give another recommendation for the Lee disc type measure.

I swapped to a Lee drum powder measure for 32SWL. the dillon powder measure performs very poorly with the small powder drops 32SWL demands.
