M41 barrel work
Who still machines some sort of direct red dot attachment method, to the barrel; either weaver slots, 3/8 rimfire ring grooves or similar?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: M41 barrel work
i've done a little search and so far haven't found anyone who advertises machining a mount or rail specifically on the model 41 but this company mills slides for optics, perhaps they might help you?

if not then these are non milled options:

You could check with Alex Hamilton: https://tenring.com/
One of my shooting buddies was happy with a reline from him, can't imagine what you are after is something he couldn't do.

Re: M41 barrel work
I had a nice chat with Wade from HIC Tech during rifle week at Perry. He said they were thinking about making M41 barrels again the same as Ray-Vin used to make. I know nothing about it or how serious he was, but it might be worth a call. All of their other products are outstanding so I would think it would be good if they decide to do it. He also said they were working on a bullseye gunbox, but didn't know if they could make it at a reasonable price. It sounded like he had some good ideas, but low volume makes it tough to work economically.

+1 for Alex. Alex did 41 trigger and barrel reline for me - the work is excellent and he was a pleasure to deal with.Chase Turner wrote:You could check with Alex Hamilton: https://tenring.com/

Re: M41 barrel work
Do I not see right on Alex’s 41/ Mark II page that he no longer cuts ring grooves directly in barrels? Is this outdated information perhaps?

In my experience it is best to reach out to the smith/craftsman/magician regarding the work you are looking to be done. I have often overlooked better options that are more obvious with experience.

You could check with David Sams in VA. He's one of the magicians for sure where the 41 is concerned.

Clark Custom Guns was at one time making 41 barrels with mount slots. I have one and it is a super nice barrel. Smith and Wesson Performance Center 41s have mounting slots.

I haven't heard much positive feedback about S&W Performance Center model 41's. Have things changed?8eightring wrote:Clark Custom Guns was at one time making 41 barrels with mount slots. I have one and it is a super nice barrel. Smith and Wesson Performance Center 41s have mounting slots.

Clark is not an option for an undisclosed amount of time.
I will check with David Sams.
