No crimp groove jacketed 38 cal 158 in a revolver?
Raven Rocks Precision has some .38 cal 158 grain JHP’s at a good price. Has anyone tried bullets like this in .38 Special/.357 magnum? My primary concern was them moving out of the case enough to lock up the revolver. Information or experience with this type bullet would be appreciated. Also not looking to use at max velocity, just mid range loads. I would be using a taper crimp.

I'm of the opinion that the roll crimp most frequently specified for use on revolver cartridges is antiquated and not necessary. With sufficient neck tension and a taper crimp the bullet won't move at all.

Thanks for the information Steve B. I have some once-fired brass and the neck tension should be good.
