Which Pardini?
Hi,
I am thinking about purchasing a Pardini for NRA 22lr indoor 50 feet matches, slow-fire timed-fire and rapid-fire.
Any thoughts on either the Pardini SP Bullseye 5" Barrel or the Pardini SP Bullseye 6" barrel?
Thanks
Jeff

Either will work, especially if you are putting a dot on it. If you are shooting metallic, maybe a slight edge to the 6" but you would need to be able to deal with a balance that is more nose heavy. If you can try before you buy, Pardini's work well for some and not as well for others.

I would recommend the 5 inch referencing the post above. I have the 6 inch for iron and the extra site radius is helpful at 50 yards. If your plan is to put a dot on it, Pardini USA sells special machined scope mounts to fit the european rails, the newer guns also have a picatinny rail for mounting a dot at the forward end of the shroud. I personally find that this further exacerbates the front heavy properties of the gun.

I will be putting a Amipoint H2 and I believe Kodiak makes a mount for the H2or H1 to Pardinia.
I wish I could try one before I purchase but I have not had that opportunity.
Presently I am shooting an AW93 and like it but I would like to try an Pardini.

Re: Which Pardini?
I am very happy with my SP Bullseye 5" with irons. Tons of sight radius already with the 5" and great balance. I like the factory grips as well and didn't need Rinks. I have or had Rinks on other guns and medium size between the two I found to be close in fit to my hand. At 50ft with SK pistol match in ideal practice sessions it shoots a dime sized group no problem.

If you ever want to compete in International style shooting, you need the 5". You also can't use the 'bullseye" grip that has the upswept heel rest.

This is a same-same but different scenario. I believe he is comparing the bullseye to the rapid fire variants. Perspective is still good though.JHHolliday wrote:Check out Zane's videos

Re: Which Pardini?
J. Shank,
I have both 5" (currently with a dot) and 6" (currently irons). I very much doubt that you gain anything with a 6" gun for 50' indoor matches (many argue about the usefulness of the 6" in any case - I am neutral).
The OEM Pardini grips are nice, but inevitably they are designed to accommodate all hand shapes within each size designation. Whilst G. White is indeed correct that in International you are limited to 5" and a flat palm shelf, but if you are fairly sure that indoor Bullseye will be your primary game then I recommend the Bullseye upswept palm shelf. It is possible to buy both shelf styles from Pardini - they interchange (as they do on Rink grips too).
What hand size are you?
I have used the Kodiak Pardini mounts with Aimpoint H1 and other clones. The mounts work very well and position the dot very low - good. I found that the mounts are rock solid on a 22, but tend to creep when fitted to a 32, particularly the 32ACP.

I have a Rink LLB0(Left Large) on my AW93 and it fits my hand perfectly.

Ah, OK, you already know about Rink's - good. Left and large - OK. I'm right and medium, got several spare right medium upright Rink's, but they are of no use to you!
One of the rarely mentioned features of the Pardini SP22's is how easy they are to clean and maintain. I keep one of these in my travel case - it fits both barrel bolt and grip bolt. Easy peasy!

Re: Which Pardini?
I've recently bought some of these to keep in my gun boxes:
Bondhus Hex-Pro Pivot Head 4mm
Because you can straighten them out, they take up VERY little space.
