Bullseye-L site category sequence self-test
BE-L website conveniently highlights sub-categories with unread messages. Over time I noticed when I check the site there is a common order I follow. I first look at unread messages in "BE guns and gear for sale", then either "Equipment discussion" or "Fundamentals discussion".
Since we know fundamentals trump equipment, if I were a good boy I would always check Fundamentals Discussion first. My excuse for checking the for sale items first is the good stuff often goes fast, and "Fundamentals" don't go away. That seems valid but after "For sale" I'm often torn between Fundamentals and Equipment discussion. My excuse on that is that I've always been a gearhead in every endeavor, typically at the expense of more productive endeavors.
Any of you guys have this problem? What order to you check?

Yup. Same as you. For Sale, equipment, usually general, then fundamentals. Shame on me!!!

Usually from the bottom of the Categories up to General discussion. I try to read every new posting. Since I’m on the Admin/Moderator team I do this to catch issues before it gets ugly.
But I do know that Equipment, Ammunition, and General are far more active than Fundamentals. Perhaps that’s because the Fundamentals are fairly well established and much of the discussion here are “nuances” on those. Equipment and Ammunition are more dynamic because equipment changes and ammunition evolves as producers change their product lines.

To answer the question of what I read first, my favorite quote...
Cecil (CR10X) wrote:...there are 5 times as many topics in Equipment than in Fundamentals and 7.5 times as many topics in Equipment and Ammunition than in Fundamentals. And yet, with all the discussion on Equipment and Ammunition, all the 1.5 inch guns being produced, all the sub whatever inch loads being developed, all the new dot sights, etc., etc., etc.; there hasn't been a change in the record score for a 2700 aggregate match in years! Something to ponder here?

People like success and shiny things, and it's easier to find succes by owning a nice shiny pistol or producing good shooting shiny ammunition than it is to improve oneself based on fundamentals.
Hence the low posting percentage in the fundamentals section.
3+ pages lately on a new reloader recommendation and virtually nobody asking a 2650 shooter "how did you do it?"
I miss Cecil

I use the link near the top of the home page each time I access the site. The link reads something like "View posts since last visit" and when you click it you get ALL of the new posts since your last visit. Works great.
