Ever have a perfect match? Empty Ever have a perfect match?

I know there are probably a lot of definitions for a perfect match. I will say that ignoring such minor things like score, weather, wind and travel time todays match by everyone that showed up was a big winner. I drove 300 miles round trip to shoot. Most of the shooters had shorter commutes. The wind scheduled to come out of the East at 20 mphs was happily a no show. The temperature started out in the low 20s and worked its way into the mid 30s. There was a lot of extra clothes on that line. The scores were down a bit but I am sure we can blame the weather. So, what makes it a perfect match? The 6 of us that braved the elements and showed up were all in a different class. We had a new shooter shooting 22 only so every class was covered. We all won our class. We also get to call all of our regulars and ask them why they weren't there. I would have to say by that definition todays match was a winner.

Made me remember that last year we shot the Army Area Match at Ft Mead MD.  Dang it was cold.   On leg day it was freezing and we were on the first relay.  It snowed while we were shooting.  We thought we had it bad until we were sitting is a local restaurant having a cup of coffee.  We could see the range flag from our table.  During the first relay there was no wind and the flag was lifeless and hanging down.   During the second relay it was whipping in gusting wind!  Got my second leg that day! Very Happy

I got my second leg at Ft Mead. I think that was in 1974. It was snowing. I think it is always snowing there.
