how do you orient your dot?
Something I have not seen discussed and would be interested to hear how others do theirs. When you mount a ultradot on your gun, how do you orient the dots tube? I hold the gun as I would shoot it and with a small level sitting on the flat on top turn it left or right till the bubble in the level is centered.

Re: how do you orient your dot?
I use a straight edge steel ruler that I put on the battery cover and run it down the side of the frame. I then twist the scope until the ruler is parallel with the frame. This works for me as he pistol can be lying on the bench or in my hand and I still get the same results. It is an eyeball thing but basically so is using a level. Any cant (most people have some) that I may have is nulled when I sight the pistol in.

Actually it is easier on the matchdot and 4dot. The 30 mil tube has a nice flat surface in front of the dot size knob. It is closer to the frame and easier to check for parallel. The scopes flat frame is also more solid than the battery cover.

I get in my stance and bring gun up like i do in slow fire and keep turning dot till it looks like the square part of dot is parallel with a line between center of bore and center of dot tube this works for me.
