New Guy Checking In
Hi folks.
I'm a Highpower shooter from the Chicago area, getting into Bullseye. I've shot one 2700 a couple of years back, and basically got my butt kicked. I've gone Distinguished and multi-P100 with the long gun, and it certainly was a humbling experience.
Anyway, I've finally been able to amass all the "proper" components for my Beretta and have simply run out of excuses not to get serious about this whole "pistol thing." I have my first (indoor) match this weekend. Eventually I would like to go Double Distinguished, and I gotta start somewhere.
Looking forward to reading up on this list and participating with you guys.
Respectfully,
Derek Dattner

Welcome. I came from shooting both ATA trap and F-Class rifle. While I am still horrible at Bullseye, I love it. Shot on two leagues and this past summer I shot several 2700 matches. Cannot get enough.

Welcome, Derek. I think there are a couple Chicago area shooters who go to the matches at the Milan Rifle Club. They have an indoor 2-gun 1800 coming up on the 11th.

Thanks very much, Ralph. I've shot at Milan many, many times for Highpower. Love that range, and their indoor facility is top-notch.
Unfortunately, my daughter's huge into volleyball and has a tournament that weekend.
As a side note, shot my first indoor pistol match in the South Suburban Police Pistol League today and had a 246-3x. Had a very good time and looking forward to going back. Lots of Lessons Learned, though.
