That Time Of Year-Who Are NRA Competitve Shooting Candidates?
i received my NRA ballot. Does anyone have a list of candidates that support conventional/bullseye/precision competitions?
Others who came from and or support competitive shooting? Thanks,
Chip

Well, unfortunately, over 150 views and not a single suggestion. This leads me to believe there may be NO competitive bullseye/conventional/precision shooters running :-(
We really need candidates that shoot bullseye if we want to stay with the NRA.

I really need to strongly disagree when people talk about breaking bullseye away from the NRA.
It makes sense to keep the NRA doing the things they are doing now, and doing our own promotion work to compliment what NRA is doing and grow our sport. NRA is giving us "X". While we all agree they should be giving us "X+Y" we shouldn't talk about throwing away "X" while there isn't any way for us to pay for "X" or "Y".

Hap Rocketto for one. There is a list that I have along with a list over on Target Talk and the National Match Forums for Highpower of the the competitive shooters.
I will copy part of Haps message to here.
"What you need you to do is send an Email to every competitive shooter in your address book and recommend they vote for the ten individuals listed below. Detailed biographies can be found at http://home.earthlink.net/~electbio/.
Additionally speak to your club and state association membership and recommend these candidates and talk these people up at your Friends of NRA dinners.
To vote for 25 individuals only weakens your ballot. The celebrities will get elected with, or without your support. Vote for only these eleven who are either competitors and/or strong supports of competitive shooting, Captain John Sigler, Edie Fleeman, Doctor David Coy, Joe Bergalis, Maria Heil, Dr. Virginia McLemore, Tim Pawol, Doctor Don Saba, Hap Rocketto, Robert Wos, and Joel Friedman.
Eligible voters will begin receiving their ballots in January which must be returned no later than March 1, 2015.
We thank you for your support."

Whether they shoot Bullseye or not they are competitive shooters and that is better than figureheads. My exception to that is that I will personally add John Milius. He is a Hollywood director and one of the most staunch supporters of the right to keep and bear arms anywhere, much less Hollywood.

You guys can vote how you like, but I trust Hap Rocketto and further I trust his judgement on others. I will be voting the 10 above and also John Milius.
