Springfield Custom Trigger Job?
I'm about to change the mainspring and recoil spring on my RO but before doing that I wanted to make sure of what is in the gun now. Springfield Custom already did a 4# trigger job on it. Would Springfield have changed any of the springs during the trigger job? What would they have done to make it a 4# trigger?

Re: Springfield Custom Trigger Job?
Mine retained the original trigger and springs.
If the trigger isn't properly fit they will replace it. I assume the do some polishing/honing as well. At least they did on mine. I wouldn't use them again, while a good trigger job, it is not at the level of a specialized BE gunsmith.

Well, you just shamed me into crossing another boundary. I'll be digging deeper into the 1911 very soon but be prepared for some questions.DavidR wrote:they just bent the sear spring some, center and left legs, things you should learn to do, youtube videos show how, don't pay for this its something a 10 year old can be taught.

Why change the mainspring after getting a 4# trigger job? For example, you may find out that it needs the spring poundage used to keep the hammer from following. If you don't know the potential effects, setting the sear spring, etc., it can become a very frustrating series of events. If the trigger job is not what you wanted, always get back with the gunsmith or company if possible. Just some thoughts.
