Ha, this is a surprisingly difficult item to find. I found some at an art supply/frame store in San Mateo.

never used it, and not sure its even allowed in nra matches, we always use replacement centers and masking tape or pasters just to repair the white. But you can buy black pasters I have seen them, I would check with champions choice.

Thanks for the replies. I've bought pasters over the years from Bullseyegear.com I was hoping to find less expensive alternative to them.

Re: Black Masking Tape Source?
I've been looking in hardware and craft stores too for black masking tape. We had a Bullseye clinic last November and one of the first exercises was a black vertical line on the back of a repair center at 25 yards that we shot at to zero the windage of our sights. Next we shot at a horizontal line to zero elevation. Seemed like a quick way to get a usable zero, so I've been looking for black masking tape to use rather than black vinyl electrical tape.
If I remember correctly, I ran across a small roll at a craft store (maybe Michaels) but the price was not reasonable.

Use gaffers tape. It's more of a flat black and you can get a roll for around $10. You can find at any place that sells theater equipment, lighting and set design materials. My wife is an event florist and I can always snag a partial roll left laying around by the stage techs.

Amazon has it as well. Search black tape and select Protapes. $4.69 with free shipping as a prime member.

Re: Black Masking Tape Source?
I bought some black masking tape at the local artsie supply store a long time ago. Didn't know it had WHITE adhesive. Didn't work so well unless cut with a knife or scissors.
Last substitute I tried was stickers. Office supply had nothing in black so I bought dark blue. I print black over them 'cause they were super-distracting even at 50 yards. Plus all they had was 3/4 inch and that's sometimes too small for .45 holes.
So when I run through the rest of them, I'm gonna shop around for real pasters. Gave up on asking to buy them at gun stores and indoor ranges about 30 years ago... But thanks to this thread I can quickly shop the best suppliers.

Try Uline, 1" x 60 yards for $3.80 a roll (less if you buy quantity):
