Picking favorites..
What do you consider your favorite 22 and why?
I noticed that my favorite 22, even though it was never popular, is my Domino 602. I have a Pardini SP and it fits and shoots well but my Domino just seems to point a little better and the trigger is just as fine as the Pardini. I used to just shoot a 22 conversion or my HS for 3 gun matches but overall my favorite is my Domino.
What do you find makes something your favorite? trigger, pointing, grip....

S&W 41. Tho I haven't tried any of the Euro guns. I really see no advantage for US bullseye but they do work.

Re: Picking favorites..
I'm sure if I were to survey the line at Perry Euro guns will win in .22. Those that are shooting less than .45 in Ceterfire would probably be a tie but Euro guns will win. naturally the US guns will dominate the .45 line.

I love my volquartsen scorpion. The trigger is one of the best I've tried.

Re: Picking favorites..
Most if not all Euro .22's that are designated as Target have completely adjustable triggers while the US made target pistols have no adjustments. This feature becomes important as a shooter improves and competes at higher classifications.
After accuracy and function the trigger becomes the next important factor in target grade pistols.
What makes the gun my favorite is the one I shoot the best with! I had a High Standard Victor that shot almost a one hole group at 50 yards, Never alibied and pointed at the target when gripped in my hand. I had trigger work done and even added a sliding trigger attachment so the trigger length could be adjusted but I could not shoot it good! I would be lucky to shoot an 840 with it yet with my homemade copy of the Biakal or Hammerili 208s I could easily shoot in the 860s.

I play and play and play. But I always end up on the line at important matches with my long barreled 41 in the box. It just feels right.

Well that's the most important feature of all! It feels right! AMU is using worked over 208s that almost looks like a 1911

Re: Picking favorites..
It is interesting how some pistols just feel better, even though there are newer more adjustable models.
I remember a conversation with a former national pistol coach and he stated that during his time, early 90's, that the testing they did at that time showed only two Euro pistols had the accuracy standards for 50 yard bullseye. They thought only the Domino 602 and Hammerli 208 met the standard at that time. I don't think he cared either way since his interest was for International matches where only free pistols were used at 50. Anybody using a Euro 22 was for standard or women's sport events. He was just commenting on accuracy at 50 yards and not any other aspect.

My all time favorite is the Ruger MK I that I purchased while in high school in the mid-60's.
For Bullseye, my S&W Model 41.

Not all Domino 602s were loved and cherished. Read the add on this one. "In good shape". I was curious what was out there.

Wow....questions like that start bar fights. LOL.
For me; a Smith and Wesson M41....
Accurate and reliable. With the 5.5 inches barrel; I like its heft and balance.

Every decent 22 will shoot 10 ring at 50 yards, so all will shoot a perfect score. so its not the gun but how much you like it and how it feels to you.

Re: Picking favorites..
Doesn't seem to be very popular among BE shooters here, but I love my Morini CM22m. I have two, one is set up for Bullseye with the Matchdot, the second one is with iron sights, used as a backup and for standard pistol (and will be used for 22EIC matches too). Can't really say what I love about Morini in particular, it was an upgrade from Mark III and a sort of a compulsive buy But it feels just right, and the only thing I can blame for not shooting a perfect 900 is me
(oh yes, my FP and AP are Morini too...)

Re: Picking favorites..
I have shot the HS's, 1st the slant grip, then Mil, M41, Kart, Marvel 1, & Marvel Custom Pro and the HS's were by far the favorites. The HS's were all Gile's. 2nd would be a 1911 conversion.
During the time I shot the 41 I was always searching for a grip setup that felt like the 1911 or just felt better. The best I could do was the factory set thinned, then filled in the hand's web area. They were also flattened a bit imitating the 1911 flat mainspring.
