Classification bump?
First topic message reminder :
I know we have talked about this before, but....
2 weeks ago I shot 1644/1800 for an average of 91.333%
Today I shot 1617/1800 for an average of 89.833%
My running 360 is 3261/3600 for an average of 90.583%
Barring anything weird with the reporting of the scores, does that mean I should be getting my expert card, or would I have had to shoot over 1620 today?

Re: Classification bump?
20 years or so since I had any classifications or changes in them, I never recall there being anything except the new card. When did they have decals?

Re: Classification bump?
I received decals with both my Marksman card and my Sharpshooter card....and for indoors and outdoors. I last got reclassified in 2012 and 2013 so they sent them then for sure.....

Re: Classification bump?
I just received this very prompt response from Elizabeth Martin at NRA regarding the decals. Looks like they are soon to be no more.
Mr. Reed,
You are right on the money in more than one way. A different person has been mailing out the classification cards for a few months now, and didn’t send out decals. If you can please validate a good physical address, I am more than happy to pop something in the mail today. When we run out of stickers, that will be the end of it. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you for your time and patience while we correct this for you.
Respectfully,

Re: Classification bump?
James,
Are you sure this program is in effect?
It's a nice promotional item...It's not perfect, but it's not bad.
I like how the awards section is set up (see page 40). I don't believe it's right for competitors to place an "order" for the classification awards that they earned...
I think that there should be an order blank for match directors so they can order NRA branded awards. Match directors have a lot to do. We shouldn't need to search for trophies and awards.
I think the descriptions of each sport are great. The overall length of the document is way too long.
Each sport should be in it's own brochure. It would be great if NRA could work with firearms retailers to print this info and have it available at the gun stores.

Re: Classification bump?
Yes, we do it at the Howell Gun Club, in Michigan
I believe our pistol director who runs it makes sure he has all the necessary patches as he believes in immediate recognition.
the only part that really would relate to BE would be the distinguished Expert being able to turn in NRA match programs for his results.
What I meant was the NRA seems to put more emphasize on this program than the "precision pistol" program...

Re: Classification bump?
FINALLY!! I got my Expert card in the mail.
....no decals....
I was so close to becoming a distinguished Sharpshooter this year! I have 28 points now.
There was one match this year where only 15 of the 16 non-distinguished shooters actually shot. I won that match, but because of that one shooter who failed to fire, I ended up with 6points instead of 8.
One more match to win...
I think I will order that expert patch package....those look pretty cool.
But the one thing I noticed is there are no Master or High Master patches?!
There's something fishy about that Winchester/NRA classification program....

Re: Classification bump?
Congrats Rob! When you do make Master or High Master I think it would be worth the small expense to have a patch embroidered up for it.

Re: Classification bump?
Not yet Ralph! I gotta win 1 more leg match....then the dot can go back on.
I'm getting pretty good with the irons, so it shouldn't be too hard.
I made Governor's Ten at the Wisconsin State Pistol Championship this year, so I'm making President's hundred my goal for 2016.
I just won't be doing it as a Sharpshooter anymore. ..

Re: Classification bump?
I didn't get any decals either. Just the card. I think its cool, one of the guys in my league had MK/SS/EXP and it neat to see his progression on his box.
