SA RO Warranty Work
As I discussed in the Ammo Discussion section, I sent my RO back to SA June 16 for wayward groups and flyers after 560 rounds. I got the emailed invoice yesterday. No charge for shipping, testing, frame-to-slide refit, new barrel, new rear sight and final testing. 3 of the final test targets will accompany the pistol due to be delivered to my house June 29. Wow. What good service. I hope I can now easily break the 3" group barrier at 50 feet using a bench and pistol rest. Maybe now I can find that sweet spot for my gun that eluded me before due to large and inconsistent groups and kept me from shooting 25 and 50 yards. Maybe my 74 y.o. eyes aren't so bad after all.
I had used Jack Wiegand's 2.5 lb. Trigger Pull text on Brownell's website to reduce my pull to 44-48 ounces because I thought the issue was due to the 5.5 lb. pull. I also did a jeweler's loop inspection and found a scratch in a 6:00 groove in the barrel at the muzzle, a deep imprint of the rear spring guide on the right frame spring stop, spalling on the left side of rear slide lug, a perceptible wobble in the slide to frame fit, a noticeable gap on the left side of the frame/slide rails when in battery and loose fit in the barrel/bushing when in battery. I did not find any anomalies on the front or rear sights. Maybe there will be an explanation in the pistol case. In any event I surely am impressed with SA's prompt service and warranty work. Can't wait to get it to the range when I get back from vacation July 7. SA certainly has lived up to their reputation.

Wow! You are thorough. Good to hear SA stepped up to the plate and provided good warranty service. I've found them to do the same on my end. I only wish Pardini USA provided half the level of service of SA instead of being amateurishly handled by the teenaged son of the owner.

If it had been Smith and Wesson, reply would have been "within acceptable tolerances" and "we test 3 shots at 15 feet"
from personal experience.
First class from SA!
I've also had good results from Colt...

You mean the 20 year old 2 time Junior World Champion Alex, who most likely knows more about the Pardini than any of us would hope to! When I was considering the Pardini 22/32acp I found the son very helpful and quite knowledgeable. You must of caught him on a bad day - we all have them.

Yes, must have caught him on a few bad weeks that probably ranged while he was still a teenager. So what did you learn about the Pardini 22/32acp from the 2 time Junior World Champion than any of us would hope to know?dronning wrote:beeser wrote:.. Nothing that a fresh PO wouldn't offset but highly unlikely. Regardless, I usually try not to throw good money after bad.john bickar wrote:Beeser seems to be forgetting the First Rule of Holes.

So what's wrong with the gun? I've said before that Alex, Emil, and Vladamir have all been helpful to me with parts and advice on a gun that was sold more than a decade before they had the distributorship. That doesn't mean that you didn't have bad service, but I have seen nothing to indicate bad service from them in my experience.
What do you want for the gun or conversion? I might have a 32 s&w hp that I could put it on.

I'll probably sell the .32 ACP conversion but in keeping with forum rules I'll post it in the Commercial Row section.jmdavis wrote:So what's wrong with the gun? Re: SA RO Warranty Work
Several years ago, a returning Iraq veteran called me to see if I could get a Pardini SP22 for him before Perry, which was only weeks away.. Emil, who was out of country at an international match, went out of his way making calls and contacts to get that Pardini here in time for Perry.. I'll never forget his effort to help that home coming veteran..

My SIl sent his RO in, front sight pin kept coming out and grips had gotten loose. Had it back in 10 days. Came back fixed, and he thinks they did a trigger job on it while there as the trigger, which was really good out of the box, was even smoother when it came back.
