Some starting Sprinfield Ro loads needed

Hey folks.  I was wondering if those with RO's can save me a little time and money and give me some loads they found to work good in the Springfield RO.

I have a ton of Titegroup powder and need to start buying some lead.  Was thinking LSWC bullets to start with to keep cost down for practice.

Also searching but can't seem to find anything specific to that gun

Let us know if your RO has a slide mounted dot as that will make a difference.

No slide mounted dot.  Just the Adj sights it came with.  My goal is to shoot CMP/EIC and maybe some NRA matches.  So, that being said...Lead for NRA  Jacketed for CMP  I want to load lead or something inexpensive for practice.

4.5 Bullseye, 185 gr nosler or zero jhp

Lablover, I wanted to keep my RO EIC legal but I also wanted to shoot it for NRA matches with wad ammo and a dot. You will be shooting a lot more NRA matches with the pistol then EIC matches. Actually if you go to Perry and shoot the extra allowed match you only get to shoot 6 matches or 180 rounds a year in competition. You can shoot that many rounds in 1 NRA match if you use it for CF and 45. That being said my solution was to mount a rail on the pistol that did not require any change in the steel sights. This solution may not be for everyone but it worked for me for this pistol. I mostly use it as backup for my Gold Cup but it is there ready to go if needed. Remove the 2 scope mount screws and the 3 rail mount screws and your ready for hardball.

I have used 4.0 grains of TG behind a 200 grain LSWC from Magnus. Not a bad load but Bullseye powder seems to make tighter groups for me. With the BE I use 4.0 behind either a 200 grain SWC or the Magnus #801 185 grain SWC. With the #801 and 4.0 of BE my Clark Long Slide is 2" @ 50 yard capable making shooting JWC's pretty much a waste of money IMO.

My load suggestion was for EIC.

My load is 3.8gr for 200gr LSWC
4.2gr for 185gr JHPs

Ive looked at all my Manuals and all starting loads with 200 gr LSWC seem to be starting at 4.7 gr of titegroup?  I'm seeing 3.8 and 4.0 here so far...Sorry to question but what am I missing?  Light load?  Not sure it matter but I'm also using cases with Small primers..

You will never find loads in a book that are as low as we use for Bullseye. These loads have been developed over the last century (more or less) and work for Bullseye. The store bought manuals list loads that will function in all over the counter firearms but Bullseye shooters get to tweek their Pistols and play with reduced loads and reduced recoil springs. Remember getting too low of a load might cause a squib but you won't have an over pressure problem (unless you don't notice the squib). Bottom line...these low loads will work.

I do the same thing you are planning, run a cmp legal gun (Springfield nm hardball) for leg matches and bullseye.
For practice or local matches, I use 4.1 wst (short line) and 4.7 wst (long line) with 185 bayou lswc. For big matches or cmp leg matches I use the same loads with a Nosler 185 jhp or hornady jswc. 10-12 lb recoil spring works great with these soft loads.
If you really want to make the transition between service pistol and bullseye, stick with the irons for everything.

4.2 to 4.5 with 200gr LSWC seems to be a popular choice.  I'd start at 4.0 and go from there.

Got a few loaded up with 4.0 of titegroup.  Will know tomorrow
