The picture showed 100rd boxes but the text says 50rd boxes. It's still a decent price at 36.60/brick

Re: CCI SV in Stock
Midway had some the other day, $43 for the brick and then $13 to ship it (one brick limit).
I find some 'relief' from this in that it might mean that some of that ammo will make it to my LGS again before I die.

Re: CCI SV in Stock
Since some of us shoot more than a case a year, it might not be hoarding. I have CCI std because I jumped on it when it was available at Champions Choice last January. I will likely run out before I can get another case.

Re: CCI SV in Stock
A somewhat local Dick's (Plattsburgh, NY) had one box (50rds) of CCI paper box sitting on the shelf and several boxes of Federal Auto-Match (325rds, HV). The CCI was about $5 and the Federal was about $20.
Re: CCI SV in Stock
We get ammo at my LGS pretty regularly but standard velocity can be hard (or expensive) to come by. Three weeks ago they had the Federal Auto Match at $16.95/325, two weeks ago the 50 round boxes of Fed. 40 gr/1280fps ammo were $3.95 and the brick I bought was $29.95. If I insist on shooting sv ammo it's Green Tag or Gold Medal Match for more than two or three times the cost.
I expect that in order to feed all the .22 rimfire AR's and 10-22's that have been sold there is more demand for the faster stuff so that is what is being made by most companies.

Re: CCI SV in Stock
I was on a long vacation last month driving the east coast. I was in PA, so I had to take a detour to Cabalas . I had never been to one before. Imange my surprise when I found CCi SV sitting on the shelf!!!! I have not seen it in NY for about 4 years. My local shop had the Aguila SV in stock so I picked up two bricks to try. I haven't hit the range yet with them though.

Not the cheapest, but at least available. Unfortunately I can't add anything to the cart to see what the limit and pricing is. If your desperate its an option. I haven't received an alert from lower priced stores.

Almost twice the price of the CCI, but at least the limit is higher. http://www.bullets.com/products/TAC-22-LR-40-Grain-RN-Ammo-Box-of-50-Made-in-Germany/BL7819

Re: CCI SV in Stock
When I started shooting about 2 years ago I had to pry a few 50 round boxes out of the store I bought my .22 from. Its definitely better now but I still rarely see CCI SV in stores. I get alerts from midway(act fast!) and can usually find CCI SV from 1 of a few go to sources. At 50 ft Federal Auto Match shoots about the same as CCI for me but isn't as reliable. I've recently started using Eley Club for matches. But CCI is great for practice.

Gentleman, no intention of being impolite, but I would appreciate it if we could stay on topic. I'm hoping to update the thread with CCI SV as I find it not, argue about pricing. The goal was to help new shooters and members having trouble finding ammunition who may not know where to look. I think we're getting a little off track.

Re: CCI SV in Stock
My local law enforcement supplier, who is also a great place to get guns, has the 100 rd plastic boxes of CCI SV right now for $7. Unfortunately, he limits it to 300 per week. Each sale is logged by customer, so yes he can tell if you've already bought some this week......... I know this isn't helpful for finding it, but the stuff is starting to show up. The local Gander Mountain has LOT's of the 50 round boxes of CCI SV for $5 a box. They also have quite a bit of other .22 ammo.

Re: CCI SV in Stock
Availability of anything is still spotty where I look for .22 RF. SV remains my first choice, but I'm interested in the current experiences of people with the (usually? always?) spendier Tac-22 stuff. Almost bought some last year but some CCI popped up.
50-yard group tests are of most interest. I presume it will function just about any semiauto.
In the past, I have made do with Winchester, Federal, and CCI HV HPs because they were noticeably more accurate than other ustabeabletofinditanywhere .22 ammo. But the Winchester stuff now has such a blunt nose, it won't feed in two pistols and even pukes the Ruger 10-22 if I use the wrong magazines.
Thanks for any info you can send. I'm trying to NOT break out the CCI Blazer I scored a while back, pretty sure it will barely hold the 10-ring instead of being comfortably inside like the SV stuff performs from my guns.

Re: CCI SV in Stock
Tac is pretty good. I haven't tested it in a Rest, but I have shot the same scores that I can shoot in slow fire at 25 with it at 50. At this point the best of those is 94 at 25 and 93 at 50. Tac Match shoots a little better I think. When I was using Eley Target at 25, I could use the same sight setting for Tac Match at 50.

I can report that TAC feeds and functions perfectly in my Nelson conversion. Feels a bit softer than CCI SV.

Re: CCI SV in Stock
The Tac definitely feels softer then the CCI SV. In fact it is enough softer that it will not reliably operate in my 41 or Hi Standard if the temperature drops a little. I can not use it for the winter league. So I practice with the spendy stuff and save my CCI for matches. Yep, that is backwards.

Re: CCI SV in Stock
I just wandered into my local gun shop* as they finished stocking a shelf with bricks of CCI sv. I asked if it was the usual 1 unit limit and they said buy what you want. I got a case and did not even ask the price until at the register, $395 for 5,000 rounds.
To say that I was thrilled would be an understatement! Probably tomorrow everyone will have it on sale at $350 but I am not holding my breath for that (I will buy more though, I intend to not ever run out of it again).
For those (certainly not pistol shooters) who think that 5,000 is a lot..... figure 100 per week and it won't last a year!
